Driver Education Made Simple
Frequently Asked Questions
Find clear answers to common questions about driver training, permits, testing, and Ohio BMV requirements.
What does Ohio require to get a driver’s license?
In Ohio, new drivers must obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit Identification Card (TIPIC), complete the required driver education (if under 18), pass the vision and knowledge tests, and successfully complete the road skills test at the BMV.
What does Ohio require for a limited-term license?
A limited-term license is issued to individuals with temporary legal status in the U.S. Requirements vary based on documentation. We recommend checking with the Ohio BMV for eligibility and required documents, and we’re happy to guide you through the training portion.
What is the minimum age to start driver’s license training?
In Ohio, students may begin driver education at 15 years and 6 months. Adult learners (18 and older) may start at any time.
Are your instructors licensed?
Yes. All A+ Dayton Driving School instructors are Ohio state-licensed, professionally trained, and experienced in teaching both teen and adult drivers.
How is the online class taught?
Our online classroom instruction is self-paced and state-approved. Students can log in anytime, complete lessons at their convenience, and track progress easily.
Do I have to take all behind-the-wheel training in a row?
No. Behind-the-wheel lessons can be scheduled flexibly based on availability and student preference. We work with you to create a schedule that fits your needs.
How long do I have to finish the program?
Most students complete the program within a few weeks, but timelines may vary depending on scheduling and individual progress. We’ll help you stay on track.
Do you pick up students for driving lessons?
Yes. Pickup and drop-off options are available within our service area. Please contact us to confirm eligibility and scheduling details.
Can I drive once I get my permit?
Yes, but only when accompanied by a licensed adult who meets Ohio BMV requirements. Driving alone is not permitted with a temporary permit.
When can I schedule my driving test at the BMV?
You may schedule your road test once you have completed all required training and meet Ohio BMV eligibility rules. We’ll help you prepare and guide you through the process.
How many hours do I drive with an instructor each day?
Driving sessions typically last 1–2 hours per lesson, depending on the program and student availability.
Do you have a refund policy?
Yes. Refund eligibility depends on the program and services already completed. Please contact our office for full details on our refund policy.
